Awards 2022
Following the second calls for proposals under the European Defence Fund (EDF), 41 collaborative defence research and development projects have been selected for funding, with a total EU support of almost 832 million € (€317 million for collaborative defence research and €514 million for collaborative capability development projects, complementing national contributions).
Belgian entities are involved in 30 winning participations in 18 different projects (9 being research actions, 8 being development actions).

Following the first ever calls for proposals under the European Defence Fund (EDF), 61 collaborative defence research and development projects have been selected for funding, with a total EU support of almost €1.2 billion (€332 million for collaborative defence research and €845 million for collaborative capability development projects, complementing national contributions).
Belgian entities are involved in 41 winning participations in 28 different projects (11 being research actions, 17 being development actions). Belgian entities have already proven to be highly competitive in the EDIDP pilot programme. As regards the 2019 programme, we counted 13 Belgian winning participations. In 2020, this number even amounted to 19.
