On 17 and 18 October, the second seminar of the twentieth session of the High Studies for Security and Defence took place.
The theme of this seminar was ‘Grand Strategy’, with a particular focus on Russia, China, the United States and the European Union.
To break the ice between the auditors of the current session, they took part in a sporting activity on Friday afternoon. This allowed them to exercise their core stability in the sporting infrastructure of the Royal Military Academy.
In the evening, the auditors of the current session and the previous one convened to toast their friendship.
The turnout of the ‘ancients’ was particularly high, which only added to the atmosphere.
On Saturday, the different branches of the armed forces were presented in order to familiarise the civilian auditors with the operational aspects and readiness of the Belgian Defence. In addition, a group discussion took place whereby three smaller groups took a critical look at the relationship between the US and the EU.
