Israel’s current security equation, when schematised to the extreme, sets a scene where its six (Sunni) Arab partners are standing up against six (mostly Shia) Iran-backed militias. While each concerned actor – friend or foe – is operating along a varying degree of engagement, the two main – Israeli and Iranian – agendas at work are progressing and evolving the respective parameters of Tel Aviv’s and Tehran’s shared obsidional complex.
