The return of the notion of high-intensity warfare in the defence literature is intriguing. It is part of a new perception of possible threats associated with Chinese power policy.
It is about determining which factors should be taken into account in order to justify, weigh up or invalidate a belligerent vision of this country, but also understanding the meaning of the words ‘challenges’, ‘adversary’, ‘risk’ and ‘enemy’.
And, in the end, it is about always seeking to identify the elements that constitute the creation of an external enemy, whether real or imagined.
